Please bring Ukrainian flags, posters to support Ukraine, etc. that we can put around the front of Westland every Saturday to continue to show our support for Ukraine. Please also keep wearing your Ukraine-themed clothing/vyshyvanky to school.

Readathon
Picture
Readathon campaign continues. If you need books to read, our mobile library is available every Saturday just outside the school buiding.

Humanitarian Assistance
Humanitarian Assistance continues to be collected at school weekly. The list of items we are collecting has changed, based on feedback from Ukraine on what is needed. Supplies to "stop the bleed," especially the CAT-7 tourniquets, are undoubtedly in the most demand. Please see Amazon wish list for all of the items we are now collecting. (You certainly don't need to buy from here, it's just a concise way of getting the list to you.)

We will again be collecting and packing supplies outside or in the main alcove (in case of rain), but please only bring items that are being requested (including, of course, items purchased from the prior list if you already have them). Some of you have asked about donations for Ukrainian refugees. At this point in time, neither the school nor St. Andrew UOC can accept donations of goods for refugees because they are not being sent overseas. Please do not bring donations for refugees to school to drop off. If the situation changes, we will absolutely let you kn
ow.

Children's drawings, notes
Volunteers packing boxes at St. Andrew UOC have asked us for any small drawings, notes, and other small items like this that they can put in the boxes that they're shipping to Ukraine. Simple drawings or a few words of encouragement can go a long way! We'll have a box at the end of the coffee/donut table to collect any items.

Teachers Needed for 2022-2023!
It's not too early to start thinking about teaching next year at Ukrainian School! No prior teaching experience is required. If you think you might be interested, or want to learn more, please contact our director, Tanya Murza (ukieschooldc.pres@ukrainianschooldc.org). Remember, we're a community school and we really do rely on our community to make this work!

Thank you to Marta and Ivan Krzywucki for gifting the school a decorative house for our holidays, which has been and will be a center piece of many of our holidays through the years.
